Visa Lottery
I first encountered the idea of lotteries in church. It was at thanksgiving for someone who had just won the visa lotteries which were common at the time. And even though gambling is a controversial issue in the church, winning this bet was worthy of praises and thanksgiving.
The malleable nature of religious thought, allows it the versatility that provides hope to many, offering consistent comfort in a world of diverse worries. Comfort is hard to reject, even when it is not a solution.
